Frequently
Asked Questions
Q.
Why don’t you guys ever play mainstream music?
A. Two-fold answer: Because
of online music laws and restrictions, we cannot play mainstream
artists while we are taping the show for our podcast. Because
we know a number of people only get access to the show via
podcast, the only time you’re likely to hear mainstream
music is during show prep-time, before it begins.
Also, because this is community
radio, we like being able to feature and support local and
independent artists. They can really blow the lid off of
some of the oft-recycled top 40 stuff.
Q. Where’s Andy?
A. London, in a gorgeous
pub, with a comfy sofa near a hearth and a window. Trust
us. That’s where he is. Keep listening to the show
for more of his submissions from the land of funny walks.
Q. How can I get my music
played, or writing read on your show?
A. Take a read through our
submission guidelines!
Q. Can I have my email read
on your show?
A. Usually, but we have
a firm policy – no personal attacks or language so
offensive we can’t read it.
Q. Can I send an email anonymously?
A. Yes! Please indicate
whether we're allowed to read your email on the show.
Q. Is your show’s
content G-rated (safe for work/children)?
A. It seems to be closer
to PG-13, with some topics wandering into R-rated turf.
Most of this is risque humor and some questionable language.
A list of main topics is noted for each episode, which may
give listeners a sense of what it contains. (Short answer:
No.)
Q. I want to get more involved
with the show! What can I do?
A. Please feel free to send
us submissions and opinions! We may be able to feature you
as a guest in an upcoming episode. Also, keep an ear out
for news of station benefits and shows... we're always hoping
to get more support for the 100 watt wonder (WCOM 103.5
FM). Anything good for the station is good for the show!
Q. Can I come visit the
live show?
A. The station has limited
space, and we have limited time, so we ask that folks not
drop in unexpectedly. Shoot us an email if you're interested
in visiting the show live, and we'll see if we can make
sure to set aside some time for you!
Q. Is Zod real? Or is he
just a character created by the hosts for inserting controversial
topics?
A. He’s quite real.
Keepin’ it real, no less. Keepin’ us on our
toes.
Q. Why can’t you guys
ever start on time?
A. Do we get points for
effort?
